While I was talking with a friend of mine – Jeremy Fisher, owner of 3HourFlip.com (a site you really should visit), we discussed storage of extension cords. I had been taught year ago by a friend, Bob Wilson, a process called “Pig-Tailing” the cord. Jeremy had never heard of this and suggested that I publish a post on this process.
The process is simple.
Step 1 – Find the middle of the cord and tie a loop in it
Step 2 – Feed the cord through the loop and create another loop
Step 3 – Repeat until you can’t loop anymore
Step 4 – Feed the ends of the cord through the loop and tug to complete the process
This unit can now be stored without concern of it getting tangled. When you are ready to use the cord again, simply reverse the process.
This method will give you years of worry free, tangle free use of your extension cords.
