In this post we will describe the setup and breakdown of our standard Lights Mini Christmas Trees

One thing of note is how we anchor the lights to the ground.  We use standard metal coat hangers which we cut to form two anchors per coat hanger.  These are easy and cheap to make.  Simply cut them in the middle if the long run on the bottom, then cut them half way up on each run to the top, to form a hook.

We use a 4 to 5 foot PVC pole for each tree, and then use 3 – 150 light strings to make the tree.

Once I have looped across the pole and created each light run, I zip tie the lights to the pole through a hole I drilled into the top of the PVC pipe.

When I break the trees down, I make sure to roll each stand of lights separately.  I start to roll the string up from the female plug end so that once I finish, the make end is on the outside.  This makes deploying the light string easy during setup of the next display season.

I store the poles and the anchors for re-use later.
